In an effort to simplify the payment process, we are streamlining our system.

Our updated method:

-full payment is required at the time of service

-if you have insurance, we will submit your insurance claim on your behalf

-your insurance check will be delivered directly to you from your insurance company

*optional short-term financing options without fees are available if needed

**long term financing options are available for more significant balances and will be offered before service is provided

We understand that many of our longtime patients have been very accustomed to how we have handled payments over time, so we are making every effort to onboard the policy as smoothly as possible. For anyone interested in why we are making this change, it is because the old system was so cumbersome and time-consuming that it required a full-time position to manage. Michelle found herself staying at the office routinely well into the night, sometimes close to midnight, just to stay on top of this one thing, not to mention her other responsibilities. There is also an added benefit to you, the patient, in that you can go on with your lives instead of waiting to be hounded by Michelle via email, phone, or snail mail about your balance. The singular transaction is completed at the time, and it's done...or you "set and forget" the automated draft for a payment plan. And then, if you have insurance, hopefully, it's a nice surprise to receive a check that maybe you had already forgotten about, which could even arrive well before a payment plan is complete, which in those cases is even more advantageous than the old system.

Long story short, we feel like this is an incredibly simple and streamlined time saver for both parties. That being said, we are more than aware that change can be hard, so please offer feedback so we can help make this smooth and optimal for everyone.

***FSA and HSA plans will be handled in a slightly different way because of the nature of those products compared to traditional insurance. Please let us know if you plan on using either one, and we will help you out accordingly.

Thank you for your understanding through this transition stage,

Dr. Matt O’Shea

Below is our official Financial Agreement that you will also receive in your patient paperwork.

 Financial Agreement

Thank you for choosing O'Shea Dentistry as your dental healthcare provider. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality dental care for your overall health. We consider it an honor to have been chosen by you. Our philosophy in serving people is to provide quality dental care in a family-friendly atmosphere. This Financial Agreement is indicative of our respect for your right to know ahead of time what our expectations are in the area of finances. If you have any questions or concerns about our Financial Agreement, please do not hesitate to ask our business team.

DENTAL INSURANCE:

O'Shea Dentistry will submit all insurance claims as a courtesy to all of our patients. O'Shea Dentistry is "out-of-network" for all insurance companies. Out-of-network means the practice does not have a contract with your dental insurance plan provider.  This means insurance will not pay as much for each procedure as if you were going to an "in-network" provider. We will gladly process your insurance claim forms as a courtesy on your behalf. Our responsibility is to provide you with the treatment that best meets your needs, not to try to match your care to insurance plan limitations.

Your insurance policy is a contract between you, your employer, and the insurance company. We are NOT a party to that contract. We understand that insurance guidelines can sometimes be difficult to understand and overwhelming. We will do our best to ensure you have the tools you need to speak to your insurance company regarding any open claims.

PAYMENT POLICY:

FULL payment is due at the time of service unless prior arrangements have been made.

We will file the insurance as a courtesy on your behalf if you have current, verified dental insurance. Your insurance check will be forwarded to you directly from your insurance provider.

If you have new insurance, please call and notify our business team.

Financing options are available for most cases if needed.

We accept cash, personal checks, debit cards, Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, Care Credit, HSA, and FSA.

NOTE: O'Shea Dentistry will charge a fee of $50.00 for any returned check.

*All terms are subject to change.
