Dr. Matt O'Shea DMD
With a focus on cosmetic and restorative dentistry, Dr. Matt O'Shea has been practicing in downtown Decatur since the summer of 2005 after graduating from the University of Louisville and receiving a B.S. Biology degree from the University of Georgia in 2000. Dr. Matt is an active member of Spear Faculty Club and Spear Education based in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he receives advanced training in cosmetic dentistry, implant restorations, and comprehensive full mouth reconstruction. He is the Treasurer and former President of the Decatur Dental Study Club, active member of a local Spear Study Club, Hinman Dental Society, Georgia Dental Association, and American Dental Association. As a Co-Chair of Project Development, Dr. Matt is serves on the board of directors and has been heavily involved with the creation of the Open Wide Foundation. The Scottsdale based foundation has partnered with dental corporations, local government and local dental schools to open a sustainable first class dental clinic in an impoverished neighborhood near Guatemala City and is staffed year round by a combination American dentists, local Guatemalan dentists, local Guatemalan dental students, and the occasional American dental students. Locally, Dr. Matt is a Junior Board member of the Clarkston based Fugees Academy, a private school for low income war refugees. Otherwise he can be found searching for a mountain to snowboard, a wave to surf, a new beer to brew, a new coffee grind, or just going for a run through Piedmont Park with his Australian cattle dog, Scout.
Dr. Terry O'Shea DDS
Dr Terry O'Shea has been practicing cosmetic, restorative and implant dentistry in the metro Atlanta area since 1982.
He is a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, American College of Dentists and Academy of General Dentistry. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Georgia Regents University School of Dentistry, consults for the Georgia Board of Dentistry and practices at O'Shea & O'Shea Family Dentistry in Decatur with his brother and his nephew, Dr's Tim and Matt O'Shea. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Volunteers in Dental Missions and travels annually to Central America as a volunteer dentist and volunteers at The Ben Massell Clinic in Atlanta as well as Good Samaritan in Jasper.
Dr O'Shea is a member of the American Dental Association and former President of the Northwestern District of the Georgia Dental Association and an alumni of the LD Pankey Institiute. He graduated from dental school at the University of Detroit and attended the University of Michigan for undergraduate education before moving to Georgia in 1982.
Dr Terry lives with his wife Debby Rayson O'Shea and their two golden retrievers.
Dr. Tim O'Shea DDS
Dr Tim was born in Detroit and attended the University of Michigan for his bachelor of science and DDS degrees. He immediately returned to his father's roots in Atlanta where he has practiced for over forty years. He is on the board of Druid Hills Golf Club and has served on numerous boards at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He is married and the father of two boys and a daughter and recently became a grandfather. He is a member of the ADA and GDA as well as the Himnan Dental Society and the Decatur Dental Study Club.
